Debate Global Warming

Every time we turn on the news today we are forced to watch extreme and unexpected types of weather move through parts of the world, signs that global warming is here to stay.

Even with this in our face on a day-to-day basis, there are still those in the world who believe global warming is a hoax and refuse to believe what is starring them in the face.

It is time to take the opportunity to compare both sides of the story in order to really see what global warming is and how we are acting to resolve it.

First, let’s start with statements from those who did not believe global warming exists and is happening.

  • The science on global warming is too uncertain to act on
  • Even if global warming is a problem, acting on it will cause too much harm to Americans today and our economy
  • Global warming can actually be beneficial to stimulate crop growth and eliminate colds
  • Global warming is just part of the earth’s natural cycle; the Arctic has warmed up in the past
  • We can adapt to climate change, we don’t have to do anything
  • I haven’t felt any climate change, it’s a publicity stunt
  • It is impossible to get accurate weather predictions for the weekend let alone for centuries and decades in the future
  • As the ozone hole begins to shrink, global warming will no longer be a problem

On the other hand let’s look at comments, beliefs and statements from those who do believe global warming exists.

  • There is no debating the basic facts about global warming that scientists have been publicizing
  • If there were any benefits of global warming they will be far outweighed by the devastating affects it will cause on the other end of the spectrum
  • Unfortunately we are the cause of global warming, there is nothing natural about this cycle
  • Climate prediction is far different than weather prediction and scientists are comparing historical stats with present to make these accurate suggestions
  • We have been ignoring global warming for long enough, it is time to do something about it

As you can see there is a big difference in beliefs when it comes to global warming and this is only a small example to provide light in this situation. We can’t assume that those who do not believe in global warming are simply ignoring the truth because often science can be hard to believe at face value. Before you make any decisions about how you feel about global warming it is important to take the time to learn all the facts before you begin to debate global warming.

There are many different resources that can be consulted in order to find the latest and most accurate information regarding global warming. Of course no one expects you to believe each and every fact related to global warming but there are things that have to be understood and accepted at one point during your research. There are countless studies and research reports that can be viewed online or offline and the information within them should be read with an unbiased mind in order to really absorb the facts.

What we are seeing today is that many people are confiding and believing in myths about global warming instead of the hard facts and this is causing a conflict. In order to debate about global warming you have to make sure you are reading facts not fiction. Global warming has stirred a great deal of controversy and as a result it can be hard to know the difference between fact and myths with so many people coming up with their own conclusions and completely ignoring the scientific facts.

Everyone has their own opinions regarding global warming and the fate of our earth but the reality is on the news and all around us. The effects of global warming are becoming more and more obvious and as you begin to read through different scientific studies you will find the statistics and fact comparisons are hard to deny and ignore. As we all begin to understand what global warming really is it will become easier to learn how to deal with this global crisis.
